I wire wheeled off the chrome on both pieces, put the long skinny part in a vise and used the propane torch to heat the flux. After which he had a small accident involving the front of the vehicle. Not much damage to see, although all his refrigerant leaked out. We took the upper radiator cover off to find that the mechanics did not attach the two braces under it. The slight accident caused the braces to puncture both sides of the condensor. The owner wanted to save money, as the accident was his fault, and did not want the insurance company involved. An aftermarket condensor cost $190.00 list. We then asked him if he would like us to try a new product to repair it. he agreed. We removed the condersor, flushed it with brake parts cleaner until we were satisfied that no oil remained. We cut away just enough of the fins to see the two punctures, one on each side. Followed the directions given with the product, and it just flowed into the repair area. The real test though was under pressure. We installed the repaired condensor, charged the system, and not a trace of a leak. Easy to use, cost efficent, will be using it again.
