1) WHAT IS KEEP-IT-KOOL™ A/C SYSTEM
SEALER?
The sealer is a unique two part process that will quickly seal leaks in both
metal and rubber parts. It also contains a UV die that will expose large
leaks that should be repaired mechanically.
2) HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Sealer is a revolutionary new moisture cure formula that will form a
permanent seal on a leak. Under normal operating conditions, It travels
throughout the a/c system as a liquid. When a sealed and pressurized system
leaks, there is a drop in pressure at the point of the leak. That drop in
pressure causes condensation to form. That condensation causes the
KEEP-IT-KOOL™ A/C System Sealer to form a patch.
3) ONCE IT SEALS A LEAK, WHAT HAPPENS TO THE REST OF
THE SEALER?
The remaining sealer continues to circulate throughout the system as a liquid.
4) WILL THE A/C SYSTEM SEALER WORK FOR MORE THAN ONE
HOLE?
Yes. Each application of KEEP-IT-KOOL™ A/C System Sealer has enough
material to seal several holes.
5) IS THE KEEP-IT-KOOL™ A/C SYSTEM SEALER
ANYTHING LIKE A RADIATOR STOP LEAK?
No. Compounds added to a cooling system work on different principles. In
some cases, they even form a thick enough sludge to not only stop leaks,
but to restrict flow. The A/C System Sealer works on the basis of a moisture
cure. That is, it remains liquid until it meets the condensation formed around
a leak. That condensation or moisture causes the Sealer to “set”
and form a solid patch. Once the patch is formed, any unused sealer continues
to travel throughout the system as a liquid.
6) WILL KEEP-IT-KOOL™ A/C SEALER CLOG VALVES OR
DAMAGE THE COMPRESSOR?
No. That’s because within the closed and charged a/c system, the sealer
remains a liquid. In fact, it may even improve overall system performance
because some of the additives in the formula act as lubricating and drying
agents.
7) WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SEALER IF MY SYSTEM HAS TO HAVE
THE REFRIGERANT RECOVERED?
The KEEP-IT-KOOL™ A/C System Sealer will separate with the oil during
recovery of refrigerant. It will not contaminate refrigerants.
8) WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CASE OF A MASSIVE LEAK (LIKE
COLLISION DAMAGE)?
The A/C Sealer will be discharged with the oil and refrigerant escaping from
the system.
9) WILL THE KEEP-IT-KOOL™ SEALER WORK ON ALL
SYSTEMS?
Yes, it will work on all automotive systems with R-134a refrigerant. It should
not be used on stationary systems.
10) WILL KEEP-IT-KOOL™ SEALER SEAL ALL
LEAKS?Not necessarily. Some leaks may be too large. Prior to
installation, the a/c system should undergo a 5 minute vacuum test to qualify
the system as a good candidate for sealing. (See installation instructions
for test procedures) Large leaks that can not be sealed will be exposed because
of the UV leak detection die included in the formula.
11) IS THE SEAL PERMANENT?
Yes. When the formula is cured, a permanent seal is formed over that hole.
Caution should be used if a leak is in a component that is subjected to severe
vibration or stress. In those cases, the sealer may patch the original leak
or crack, but the severe conditions may cause the leak to expand and become
too large to be sealed in this manner.
12) ARE THERE ANY OTHER PRECAUTIONS THAT SHOULD BE
TAKEN?
Yes. For best performance, the Sealer should be installed into as dry a system
as possible. Even though one of the additives acts as a drying agent, old
driers or accumulators that are saturated with moisture can case the sealer
to set around the desiccant bag. There is no harm to the system, however
the sealer formula will be used up inside the drier instead of on leaks.
For best results or for systems that you are unsure of, either install a
new drier, and/or evacuate for extended period of time with a source of heat
on the drier, in order to expell as much moisture as possible.
13) CAN I INSTALL KEEP-IT-KOOL™ INTO A SYSTEM THAT
CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A LEAK?
Yes. The A/C Sealer is an excellent preventative measure that should be installed
after major repairs or component replacement. It will seal small leaks that
can show up after a few weeks of driving, and will prevent costly customer
come backs. In the event of large leaks, they will become exposed with the
UV leak die included in the formula.
14) HOW IS KEEP-IT-KOOL™ A/C SYSTEM SEALER
INSTALLED?
Installers should follow the instructions packaged with the Sealer. Using
the special installation hose and valve, the sealer is installed after vacuum
is pulled on the system. Then the system is charged with refrigerant through
the installation hose, assuring that all of the formula is washed into the
system.
15) HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE SEALER TO
WORK?
The Sealer will go to work immediately once the system is charged and running.
It will take 5-10 minutes for the sealer to circulate throughout the entire
system, but as soon as leak and moisture is encountered, the sealer will
start to work.
